Problem
A local charter school was preparing to open a new facility in Dearborn, Michigan. Very little technical infrastructure existed in the new building.

Solution
Macro Connect worked closely with the management company and school administration to plan and implement a technology environment that supports learning and simplifies administrative reporting.
Projects included:

  • Creating a technology plan
  • Assisting with applications for the Department of Education start-up grant funding
  • Specifying and ordering hardware and software
  • Coordinating with vendors for wiring and infrastructure
  • Implementing file and mail servers, firewalls, and workstations
  • Designing custom mobile computer labs with rolling carts, wireless access, printers, and charging stations
  • Supporting the selection and implementation of PowerSchool, a School Information System
  • Facilitating the rollout of Plato software and staff training
  • Performing ongoing maintenance of the technology infrastructure
  • Providing on-site and remote technical and end-user support for infrastructure and software
